Inpatient Mental Health Admissions

If you need mental health services, go to the emergency room at Nash General Hospital. You’ll get a medical exam and mental health admission assessment from a licensed clinician. Your assessment will help determine if your condition will benefit from inpatient care.

Your admission assessment will follow the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and state and federal guidelines for inpatient care.

Work with the Coastal Plain team to coordinate voluntary and involuntary admissions for inpatient mental health care.

Help Transitioning to Community Care

Take part in follow-up care after your hospital stay. Get help from our transitional care social worker to set up an appointment with a UNC Nash psychiatrist or another community provider within seven days of discharge from Coastal Plain Hospital. Your social worker will also call to check on you.
