Professional Women’s Group Makes Donation to Cancer Patient Assistance Fund

The Professional Women’s Group presented a $10,230 donation to the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund on March 15, 2019 at the Danny Talbott Cancer Center.

Sterling Grimes, executive director of cancer services at Nash UNC Health Care, accepted the check from the organization. She expressed great appreciation, saying, “We know how hard the women in this group have worked with the local stores and restaurants, and then selling the cards, one at a time. We also thank these local businesses for their generosity and support.”

The group raised this money by selling $10 cards featuring 10-20% discounts at 20 local businesses, including:

Miranda’s Sweet Addictions
Patios in Bloom
Pridgen’s Tire and Auto Service

The Secret Garden
Tipsy Tomato
Trax Coffee Shop
Westridge Grill
Which Wich

Stacy Jesso, vice president and chief development officer with Nash UNC Health Care Foundation was also on hand for the check presentation. The Foundation accepts all monetary donations for the hospital and will distribute to patients at the Danny Talbott Cancer Center who may be experiencing financial distress.
