Eastern North Carolina Medical Group to Offer COVID Vaccines to Eligible Residents

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Jan 20, 2021 –

UNC Health has begun offering COVID-19 vaccination appointments in the Rocky Mount region, through Eastern North Carolina Medical Group. Per revised NC DHHS guidelines, the eligibility criteria to receive the COVID-19 vaccine have been expanded to incorporate a larger percentage of the state’s population.

Currently, the following groups are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine:

  • Health care workers with in-person patient contact
  • Long-term care staff and residents—people in skilled nursing facilities, adult care homes and continuing care retirement communities
  • Anyone 65 years or older, regardless of health status or living situation

Scheduling Your Vaccine Appointment

Eligible residents may schedule a COVID-19 vaccination by visiting www.YourShot.org and clicking on the “Get Vaccinated” link. If you are experiencing issues scheduling online, please call (984)-215-5485 (Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm).

Please note, however, that vaccine supply is very limited. If you are  currently eligible, you must schedule an appointment to receive a vaccine

Walk-ins will not be accepted.  Residents must book their appointment through the website or by calling the centralized phone number, not by calling or visiting Eastern North Carolina Medical Group.

Please be aware that appointments on the website show availability at clinics across the UNC Health system throughout North Carolina. Eligible residents can make an appointment at any clinic location, but should pay special attention to the city/location they choose as some may not be close to where they live.  The only vaccination clinic through UNC Health in the Rocky Mount area at this time is Eastern North Carolina Medical Group on Noell Lane.

The vaccine is free to all patients (you will not be charged), but if you’re insured please bring your insurance card to your appointment. You do not need to bring a photo ID.

UNC Health sincerely appreciates your patience with this process. Because the number of vaccines is limited, we do not release new appointments until we can confirm that we have the required number of shots. UNC Health is working closely with the State to get as many vaccine doses as we can. If there are no appointment slots available, please try again later, as more appointments will post when supply is confirmed. We appreciate your patience while we manage limited supplies.

Nash UNC Health Care is not vaccinating the public at this time. The hospital continues to vaccinate healthcare workers and is providing resources and assistance to the clinic at Eastern North Carolina Medical Group. The hospital is directing people to UNC Health’s vaccine website, www.YourShot.org and local health departments for vaccination scheduling and more information.

If you have additional questions, call your physicians’ office or visit the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services website for more information or additional vaccination providers.  Be sure to continue wearing a mask, washing your hands, and social distancing to protect yourself while you wait for a vaccine and after being vaccinated.

Eastern North Carolina Medical Group affiliated with UNC Physicians Network (UNCPN) and Nash UNC Health Care in May 2020. UNCPN manages several local practices in the Rocky Mount community, in partnership with UNC Health and Nash UNC Health Care.
