Nash UNC Health Care Welcomes New Emergency Department Director
Nash UNC Health Care welcomes new Emergency Department Director, Meredith Denton.
Denton began working as Director of Emergency Services at Nash in late November. She most recently served as the Director of Emergency and Behavioral Health Services at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, NC. Prior to her role at Wilson Medical Center, Denton was the Director of Emergency Services at Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia. She brings 26 years of experience, including nearly 10 years of Emergency Department leadership experience. She also has experience as a Coordinator of Hospital Emergency Preparedness, and a Director of Intensive Care.
“We are excited to have Meredith join the Nash UNC team,” said Dr. Crystal Hayden, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer of Nash UNC Health Care. Our emergency department sees some of the highest numbers of patients in the state, due to being located near two major highways. We are looking forward to Meredith’s experience, expertise and leadership skills helping our teams continue to build better processes and patient experiences in our emergency department.”
Denton has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governor’s University and a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Administration.
Denton said that emergency nursing has been a major focus in her career.
“Emergency Nursing has always been my passion and being a part of emergency care delivery in this community when seconds count is very important to me. I want the community to have confidence in our ability to provide emergency care that will meet their needs when they need us most.”
