UNC Health Nash Foundation to Host Annual Sunday Funday Event

The UNC Health Nash Foundation will host its annual Sunday Funday fundraising event on April 30 at Nash Community College’s Myrtle Cater Henry Amphitheatre from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Community Paramedic Program and Patient Assistance Fund at UNC Health Nash.

“Sunday Funday is an opportunity for people to come out and have a good time, enjoy music and food, all while supporting the efforts of the foundation to impact the health and wellness of our community,” said Kathleen Fleming, director of UNC Nash Foundation.

Participants can expect several kid-friendly activities, food trucks and live music. The Nigel Experience Band will provide the musical entertainment. Tickets for ages 21+ are $50, while children’s tickets (under 21) are $15.

“Our Patient Assistance Fund provides qualifying patients with support so they can focus on healing. These funds also expand services and programs that increase patient access to quality care right here at home,” said Fleming. “The Community Paramedic Program provides additional care for patients after being discharged from their stay in the hospital, which helps them better manage chronic diseases and encourages them to follow up with a primary care provider.”

According to Fleming, both programs allow UNC Nash to impact the overall health and wellbeing of the community by providing needed resources to the most vulnerable patients. Doing so helps reduce hospital readmissions and provides better health outcomes for the community.

Tickets for Sunday Funday can be purchased by contacting Magan Smith at Magan.Smith@unchealth.unc.edu or 252-962-8127 or by visiting the UNC Health Nash Foundation website at unchealthnashfoundation.org
