UNC Health Nash Recognized as one of Business North Carolina’s Top 25 Best Hospitals in the State for Second Year
UNC Health Nash was recently named by Business North Carolina as one of the Top 25 Best Hospitals in the state for the second year in a row. The award is based on recent patient satisfaction scores and other quality of care metrics.
“Receiving this recognition back-to-back shows that UNC Nash is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our community by providing the best patient care possible. All of our staff and providers have worked hard to earn and maintain industry-leading performance that gives our community members comfort in the care they receive here,” said Dr. L. Lee Isley, president and CEO of UNC Health Nash.
Business North Carolina’s annual list is calculated using more than 25 health care metrics, including information collected by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The report includes patient satisfaction surveys and the hospital’s infection, readmission, and mortality rates for common procedures.
This recognition comes just four months after UNC Nash was named a Leapfrog Top Hospital, the highest and most competitive recognition for excellence in hospital safety and quality nationwide. UNC Nash was one of only 32 hospitals across the country to receive the “Top General Hospital” designation out of more than 2,200.
“These recognitions are testaments to the hard work and collaboration between our medical staff and staff, and the vision and oversight of our board of commissioners and quality leadership council,” said Isley. “Our dyad structures partner physicians with nursing leaders to drive these improvements in every unit and service line across the hospital, with involvement and support from every role in the organization.”
