UNC Health Nash and OIC Family Medical Center Partner to Bring New Medical Practices to the Community
UNC Health Nash and Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) Family Medical Center, a local Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), are excited to announce a new partnership to establish two new medical practices in the Rocky Mount community. Through this partnership, OIC will open a new pediatric clinic with two pediatricians, and a new OBGYN practice with three new OBGYNs, to help meet the growing need for additional providers of these specialty service lines in the Rocky Mount area.
The goal of this partnership, through the direction of both organizations’ boards of directors, is to expand access to care for mothers and children in a setting where they are familiar and comfortable. While the new providers will be recruited and employed by UNC Nash, the branding and operations of the clinic will be fully managed by OIC. It is the hope of UNC Nash and OIC that this partnership will allow both health organizations to utilize the strengths of each other to better meet the community’s health and wellness needs.
“We are excited to partner with OIC to expand access to pediatric and OBGYN care in our community,” said Dr. L. Lee Isley, president and CEO of UNC Health Nash. “Physician recruitment can take anywhere from six to twenty-four months. We are hopeful to have both practices up and running by fall of 2025.”
“We are excited to partner with UNC Health Nash to further our joint commitment and dedication to the community with the expansion of OBGYN and Pediatric services,” said Sherri Bryant, Chief Health Operations Officer, OIC. “The additional office and added services compliment our integrated health approach.”
Additional information will be shared as providers are hired and both practices move closer to opening dates for patients.
