UNC Health Nash Welcomes New Members to the Board of Commissioners
The UNC Health Nash board of commissioners welcomed three new members at its January board meeting. Tamica Gray (left,) Dean High (center,) and Kristen Brabble (right) fill seats opened by the departures of John Barker, Butch Holland, and Jean Kitchin – all of whom served nine years each on the board.
“We are fortunate to have such an engaged and passionate board of commissioners who provide strategic direction and input to ensure continuous improvement in the quality of care we provide for this community,” said Dr. L. Lee Isley, president and CEO of UNC Health Nash. “We look forward to adding the perspectives and insight of Mrs. Brabble, Ms. Gray, and Mr. High. We also thank Mr. Barker, Mr. Holland, and Mrs. Kitchin for their dedicated service to our board and community over the last nine years.”
Gray, a native of and currently residing in Rocky Mount, has lived in Nash County for 30 years. She currently serves as the Town Clerk of Whitakers and has several years of experience in customer service and administration. She is actively involved in the community through New Covenant Church of Deliverance, is a graduate of East Carolina University, and is currently working on her Masters of Business Administration at NC Wesleyan College.
High, a Wilson County native who currently resides in Bailey, has worked in agriculture for his entire career. He currently operates High Farms with his son and served on the Silver Lake Growers Cotton Gin board for 23 years. An active member of the community, High has also held leadership and volunteer positions with Southern Bank, Stanhope Volunteer Fire Department, and Englewood Baptist Church.
Brabble is a native of Ahoskie, NC and has lived in the Rocky Mount area for more than 11 years. She has worked in banking for 14 years and is currently the Chief Operating Officer at First Carolina Bank. Brabble is engaged in many civic groups in the community, including the Rotary Club and West Mount Ruritan Club. She created the popular community event Tackle the Tar, which raises scholarship funds for local students, and serves on various other boards throughout the community.
In addition to appointing new board members, new officers are annually elected in January of each year. For 2024, the Board’s executive leaders for UNC Health Nash are: Joel Bryant, chair; Bill Lehnes, past chair; Kenneth Arrington, vice chair; Terri Sharpe, treasurer; and Damian Tucker, secretary.
