Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Take advantage of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to help heal your wounds. You’ll benefit from advanced therapy close to home at Nash Wound Care Center in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

What Is HBOT?

HBOT helps your body heal naturally by increasing the amount of oxygen in your bloodstream. During HBOT, you’ll breathe 100 percent oxygen while lying in a pressurized chamber. This therapy quickly delivers up to 20 times the normal amount of oxygen to your body. It’s a simple and effective treatment.

Talk to your doctor about whether HBOT is right for your wound care treatment plan.

Benefits of HBOT

Partner with Nash UNC for HBOT, which:

  • Helps your body heal itself
  • Fights certain types of infections
  • Improves circulation
  • Stimulates growth of new blood vessels

What to Expect

You’ll attend HBOT sessions Monday through Friday for approximately six weeks. Plan to spend about two hours at the Nash Wound Care Center per treatment. Rest assured your knowledgeable, friendly hyperbaric oxygen technician will explain the process and discuss any worries you have about the chamber before starting the treatment.

Feel safe using our hyperbaric oxygen chamber because it has see-through sides, and you’ll be able to view your surroundings. You can relax, listen to music, sleep or even watch TV during therapy.

Accepted Insurance Plans

Talk to our wound care staff about how to meet Medicare treatment requirements for HBOT. Most commercial insurance plans cover HBOT. Check with your insurance plan to verify your coverage.
